The Shawwal moon has been sighted in Pakistan, and Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated across the country tomorrow. The announcement was made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee after receiving confirmed reports from various regions, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
Earlier, SUPARCO and the Pakistan Meteorological Department had predicted low chances of moon sighting a day earlier.
Eid-ul-Fitr is one of the most significant occasions in Islam, celebrated after a month of fasting, prayer, and reflection. Muslims begin the day with special Eid prayers offered in mosques and open grounds.
Before the prayers, Muslims give charity known as Zakat al-Fitr, ensuring that those in need can also take part in the celebrations. Families celebrate by preparing festive meals, wearing new clothes, and visiting relatives and friends.
Markets across major cities have remained crowded in recent days as people shopped for clothes, sweets, and gifts. Children eagerly look forward to receiving Eidi, adding to the festive atmosphere.
As the nation prepares for Eid, a spirit of joy, unity, and gratitude is visible in homes and public spaces across Pakistan.
